Fall Festival Flier 2014

Join us for Fall Weekends this October

Fall in the upper Midwest means we’re on borrowed time; in a matter of weeks it could turn to winter and we’ll be stuffed indoors for the 6 months (coming out only for Christmas Season at Vino in the Valley, of course!).  Get out outside while you can!  Join us at Vino for our Fall Family Weekends!  Fun for the entire family…bring the kids and enjoy!  If you’ve only thought of Vino as a summer destination, you’re in for a surprise!  The leaves will turn, the air will be cooler, but there is still plenty of fun, food, and wine to be had at Vino in the Valley.  Some people say our great food and wine taste even better during the autumn season.  There’s only one way to find out if the rumors are true.

Hayrides around the vineyard, Farmers Market featuring late season fruits and veggies, as well as honey, candies, jewelry and crafts from area artisans.  Saturdays 12-7pm and Sundays 12-6pm in October.

Flames and Fine Fare!

Flames and Fine Fare 08-14- VinoOur chefs are telling us that after eight seasons in the kitchen, they are ready to bust out and meet the fine folks that come to Vino in the Valley. We think they just want to show off!

Regardless of the reason, it will be our guests who benefit most when they come out of the kitchen for our “Flames and Fine Fare” event! Taking place Thursday evening, August 14, Chef Bryon, Chef Brett, and Chef Mike will be preparing special and unique dishes for our guests right before their very eyes.

A mobile kitchen will be set up in the middle of the Vino in the Valley pavilion, and all the main pasta entrees that evening will be made out front. Our kitchen’s secrets will finally be revealed; you might pick up a trick or two (and finally find out the secret ingredient that makes your favorite dish taste so great!). More importantly, guests will finally see why we call Chef Bryon the “Pasta Ninja”.

Our Chefs are pretty excited for the event. “We’re looking forward to meeting the guests and for them to meet us,” said Chef Bryon. “We want them to feel comfortable coming up and asking questions, making conversation, and just having some fun with us.”

When we asked Chef Brett if he had anything to add he remarked, “Expect a lot of flames, a lot of fun, and a lot of vino.” Do you think that means we should have a fire extinguisher on hand?

This is a one-time event so you won’t want to miss it! Vino in the Valley and the Bella Sera patio bar hours will be 5pm-10pm. Groups of 10 or more can make reservations by calling 715-639-6677.

Now Hiring

now hiringAs we near the end of August we’ll be saying goodbye to some of our staff as they head back to college.  Thank you for a great summer, guys!

Because of this, we have a few positions to fill. We’re seeking bartenders and runners (and some other positions as well) who are enthusiastic and service-oriented.  If you’re interested in joining our staff and working in a fun environment, please call 715-639-6677 or email.

We will have a Job Fair and doing interviews starting at 10am on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Vino in the Valley.

If you think you’d be a great fit, download an application here.

Spread the word!

Join us this Friday, July 4, for Fireworks!

Fireworks2 2014We’ve got big plans for a great Independence Day at Vino in the Valley this Friday. Plan to spend the day with us…

We’ve extended our hours for the holiday. Bella Sera, our patio bar, will open at 1pm, with the Pavilion opening for service at 3pm.

Join us for dinner. Chef Bryon has planned a special menu for the occasion: Red, White and Blue Pizza, Firecracker Shrimp Ravioli, and for the lighter appetites, a Chicken Salad Croissant Sandwich. All this in addition to our regular menu!

Enjoy live entertainment on the Gazebo stage. Tim Fast could be a character right out of one of the songs he writes and sings. He’s always in search of whatever song is over the next rise, and it’s that sense of adventure that has given him a catalog of great original songs that have touched audiences at Vino and the Valley and from coast to coast. You’ll become an instant fan!

Come for the fireworks. Once again, the fireworks will be conducted by Kenny and Chad Hines, who are well-known in the region for their spectacular shows. The display represents weeks of planning by Kenny and Chad, who wanted to bring you an even greater show than last year! They’ve pulled out all the stops for us, and will be bringing the latest and greatest in pyrotechnics for your viewing pleasure.

The show will start at dusk so bring your lawn chairs and blankets and watch the fireworks in the vineyard while enjoying a glass of wine or beer. We’ll also be offering brick oven pizzas to go, which you are welcome to enjoy on the grounds, as well as ice cream sundaes. We hope you’ll bring the entire family!

Vino in the Valley Hosts 5th Annual “Taste of Tuscany” Event

Taste of Tuscany 2014Once again we’re thrilled to be hosting the Ellsworth Community School District Foundation’s annual fundraising event, “Taste of Tuscany”. The event, which will be held at Vino in the Valley on Friday, May 30, 2014 supports the Foundation in their mission to enhance educational opportunities within our community using private revenues. In a time of ever-tightening budgets, supporting this great cause has become more important than ever.

Attendees will enjoy the music of Colleen Raye, a wine tasting, silent auction, and of course, great wine and a delicious dinner. Tickets are $35 and available at Vino in the Valley, Ellsworth School District Office, Nilssen’s Foods, and from Foundation board members.

We not only wish to encourage you to purchase your tickets and attend this worthwhile event, but also want to be sure all our guests are aware that due to this event, general seating for the public will not begin until 8:00pm on Friday, May 30. Our outdoor bar, Bella Sera, will be open beginning at 5:00pm if guests would like to come down to enjoy some wine until seating begins. Please spread the word to your friends and neighbors and we look forward to seeing you.

Join us for the First Annual Rush River Folk Festival

RushRiverFolkFestival03-14 logo FBThe 3-day Memorial Day weekend generally marks the unofficial start of summer, and this year we wanted to kick off the season in a big way. We’ve been considering the idea of a music festival for a while now, but it was after connecting with music promoter, David Jones, of Davey J & the Jones Tones fame, that the idea finally began to take shape. Months of phone calls, emails and planning finally came together; we’re calling it the Rush River Folk Festival, and we hope to make it an annual event.

Thanks to David and his many musical contacts, we were able to pull together five established music acts that will bring a tasty mix of original and vintage folk music to our valley. These acts have never performed at Vino in the Valley before!

On Saturday, May 24, 2014, starting at 1 pm in the afternoon and continuing until sunset, you can enjoy a full day of live performances by established musicians offering a grand mix of sounds and styles of folk music.  Our first annual festival will be headlined by Heatherlyn, a talented singer and guitarist from Minneapolis.  Her most recent full-length CD, Storydwelling, received excellent reviews. Check out this preview video to see just why we’re so excited to have her taking part in the festival!

Also performing is Little Wing, featuring the vocal power of Faith Ulwelling and her accompanist Tim Caswell from Left Wing Bourbon. Yata (originals and folk), Larry Past and Al Julson (folk and acoustic rock), and Davey J (original roots music, blues, and Americana), fresh off his recent CD, Visions: Vintage Tracks, which presents some of the best recordings from the five CDs he has released since 1998, round out the lineup of performing acts.

Yes, a full seven hours of live outdoor music will be the perfect way to start the long Memorial Day weekend. Bring your lawn chairs or blanket and settle in for an afternoon of music, wine and food. There’s no admission charge; just come and savor the amazing sounds and a glass of wine or a beer on the edge of the beautiful Rush River. If the mood strikes, stay for an Italian dinner under the Pavilion, or order a brick oven pizza to-go and enjoy it on the grounds. Heck, make a weekend of it; you’ll find we have some amazing lodging options here on the West Coast of Wisconsin!

As always, the latest event updates and announcements can be found on our Facebook page.
